Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 20! The Midwest Slam at WinStar is a competition you won’t want to miss. Midwest Slam is a qualifying event on the road to the Volvik World Long Drive Championship, and it is a great opportunity to see the world’s longest drivers compete to qualify for the world championship in September. Read more about last year’s world championship.
If you haven’t seen the World Long Drive in action at WinStar or on Golf Channel, imagine a driving range the length of four football fields and painted with a grid. The competitors have just three minutes to drive eight balls as far as they can and land them within the grid. The drivers swing at more than 150 mph and the balls zip through the air at 220 mph.
